Thank you for visiting our community council webpage, I hope you find it informative, engaging and useful too.  This is one of a number of ways we keep connected to our community and I would encourage you to use our contact page.

I am honoured to have been re-elected as chair of the community council for 2024/25.  Our regular  monthly meetings are open to the public and you will be made most welcome.

You can use this link to access the most recent Cupar Community Profile it provides a valuable insight into the make up and context in which our community needs are considered.

I look forward to leading the community council and pledge my support to ensure the actions and priorities in the coming year are in the very best interests of all Cuparians and villagers in Cuparmuir and Foodieash.

Yours,

Alastair Crockett

Community Council Chair 2024/25

Our role, commitment and supported projects

Our role - The Royal Burgh of Cupar and District Community Council has statutory consultee status and represents the Town of Cupar, and the villages of Cuparmuir and Foodieash.  The community council is made up from members of the public who have an interest in the wellbeing of their community.  Community Councilors are volunteers and serve for a period of up to 4 years.  Cupar elects 18 community councillors and 10 were elected to serve following elections in October 2023.

Our commitment - each community councillor volunteers to work for the benefit of our town and villages seeking to represent their views, aspirations and concerns where appropriate.  The community council will meet on a monthly basis (excluding July/December) at which all meetings are open to the public.  The community council shall liaise with other groups and organisations in the wider community and may co-opt representatives from such as appropriate.  In seeking to represent community interests, care will be taken to reflect the views of the whole community and to achieve this we will be guided by good practice such as the Standards for Community Engagement.  The community council responds to development and planning applications as a statutory consultee.

Supported Projects - we currently are active in supporting the following community projects:

Community Defibrillators

Cupar Bandstand

Citizen of the Year

War Memorial

Cupar Floral Bed Display

Hogmanay Ceilidh

Cupar Flood Group

Citizen and Junior Citizen of the Year
